literally

I’ve wanted to watch (500) Days of Summer since I came across the movie title in the yahoo page and learned that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in it. Also, considering the title, I got this hunch that it would be interesting and refreshing and of course, the fact that JGL starred in it is already a treat.

I waited for it last year to be shown in Dubai cinemas but I don’t know if I just missed it despite checking Cinestar websites every once in a while or again Dubai decided to be stupid and preferred other irrelevant nonsense movies instead of a good one.

So I just downloaded it and watched it last Tuesday and got another movie to put in favorites list. I so love (500) Days of Summer! It certainly lived up to my expectations and more… the only thing that’s bugging me is that it took me this long before I get to watch it.

Can’t help chuckling every time I remember this scene:

TOM: I liked this girl. I loved her. And what did she do? She took a giant shit on my face… Literally.
ALLISON: Literally???
TOM: Well, no, not literally. That's disgusting. Jeez, what's wrong with you?

I liked this scene too:

RACHEL: Better that you find this out now before you come home and find her in bed with Lars from Norway.
TOM: Who’s Lars from Norway?
RACHEL: He's some guy she met at the gym with Brad Pitt's face and Jesus' abs.
TOM: … And this:

SUMMER: I woke up one morning and I just knew.
TOM: Knew what?
SUMMER: What I was never sure of with you.

There are some many great scenes in this movie. I have to stop myself before I go on and on about it. What more can I say?... I love it! Har, har, har!

Fay

Last Thursday, immediately after coming home from work, I relax myself by lying down on my bed while watching a movie. I picked one of my all time favorite, which I haven’t watched for a long time – Riding in Cars with Boys. Even just when the movie is just starting, I’m psyched to see again my favorite scene where Bev is practicing to her best friend Fay how to say to her parents that she’s pregnant.

I’ve watched this scene several times but when it came to that part again, I still can’t contain myself and ended up laughing so hard that it borders out to insane (good thing I’m alone in our room). Brittany Murphy is just so hilarious while saying, “my daughter is a tramp… my daughter is a tramp!” with her wide eyes and cutie looks. She’s so brilliantly adorable!

Then come Sunday, I saw on the news that she died. Sad… She’s really a loss to the movie industry. May she rest in peace.

Cheers to you, Brittany!
